Ingredients for Mint Chocolate Truffles Recipe
These Mint Cookie Truffles have a rich and creamy texture that melts in your mouth, with a perfect balance of sweet and refreshing mint flavor.
Here is what you need to make delicious chocolate mint cookie truffles:
Mint Chocolate Cookies – The crushed chocolate mint cookies provide a subtle crunch and add a delectable cookie flavor.
cream cheese – The addition of softened cream cheese creates a smooth, rich filling that complements the cookies and mints perfectly.
Chocolate Almond Bark – The melted Almond Bark gives the truffles a smooth and velvety finish
How to Make Easy Chocolate Mint Cookie Truffles
1. Blend cookies in a food processor.
2. Mix cookie crumbs and cream cheese in a large bowl until well combined.
3. Scoop and roll the mixture into small balls.
4. Freeze the balls on a parchment-lined tray for 30 minutes.
5. Next, melt chocolate in a medium-sized bowl.
6. Dip the frozen truffles into the melted chocolate using a fork.
7. Ensure the truffles are well coated before removing and letting the excess chocolate drip off.
8. Place the chocolate-covered truffles on a parchment-lined tray and repeat with the remaining truffles.
9. Optional: You can color and decorate your truffles with candy melts if you like. I wanted to use green for this recipe for St. Patrick’s Day, but you can use any color of candy melts you like. Once all the truffles are coated, add the green candy melts to a small heat-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth. Next, use a fork, a drizzle spoon, or a small squeeze bottle to lightly drizzle the melted green candy melts over the chocolate-coated truffles. Allow the truffles to harden completely before serving.
10. Refrigerate the truffles for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Tips and Tricks for Making Delicious and Perfect Mint Chocolate Truffles
- Use room temperature cream cheese: Softened cream cheese blends easily with the crushed chocolate mint cookies, creating a smooth, creamy filling for the truffles. It’s essential to let the cream cheese come to room temperature before using it to make the truffles.
- Crush the cookies finely: To ensure your truffles have a consistent texture, you must crush the chocolate mint cookies into fine crumbs. You can crush the cookies with a food processor or a rolling pin.
- Chill the truffle mixture before rolling: After mixing the cookie crumbs and cream cheese, chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This will make it easier to roll the mixture into balls and prevent them from falling apart.
- Use a toothpick for dipping: When dipping the truffles in melted almond bark, use a toothpick to make the process easier and cleaner. The toothpick also allows excess chocolate to drip off, leaving a smooth and even coating on the truffle.
- Decorate with cookie crumbs: Before the chocolate coating sets, sprinkle extra cookie crumbs on top of each truffle for added texture and visual appeal. This also lets people know what type of truffle they are eating.
Following these tips and tricks will ensure your Mint Chocolate Truffles turn out delicious and perfect every time!

Storage tips for Chocolate Mint Cookie Truffles
Proper storage is critical to keeping Chocolate Mint Cookie Truffles fresh and delicious. With crushed chocolate mint cookies, softened cream cheese, and melted almond bark as the main ingredients, taking a few precautions to ensure the truffles maintain their texture and flavor is essential.
- Refrigerate: Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Make sure to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Freeze: You can also freeze the truffles for longer storage. Please place them in a single layer in a container or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until firm. Once frozen, transfer the truffles to an airtight container or freezer bag and store them for up to 2 months.
- Avoid heat and direct sunlight: Chocolate Mint Cookie Truffles can melt or become soft when exposed to heat or direct sunlight. Store them in a cool, dark place to keep their shape and texture.
- Use airtight containers: The crushed cookies and cream cheese in the truffles can absorb odors from the fridge, so use an airtight container to prevent the truffles from picking up any unwanted flavors.
