February Bucket List: 10 Fun and Cozy Things to Do This Month

February Bucket List: 10 Fun and Cozy Things to Do This Month

February might be the shortest month of the year, but it’s packed with so much to love—cozy nights, sweet treats, and fun celebrations like Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, the Super Bowl, and even Mardi Gras! It’s that perfect time between the excitement of the new year and the promise of spring when you can slow down, enjoy simple pleasures, and make the most of winter before it’s gone.

If you’re seeking ways to keep things fun and cozy this month, I’ve got you covered! Here’s a diverse February bucket list with 10 engaging and comforting activities to make the most of the season.

Your February Bucket List: 10 Fun and Cozy Things to Do This Month

1. Host a Cozy Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Celebration

February bucket list: Celebrate Valentine's or Galentine's Day

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic dates—it’s also about celebrating all kinds of love! Whether you’re planning a sweet night with your partner or a fun Galentine’s get-together with your besties, make it cozy and special. It’s a time to cherish the bonds we share and the love that surrounds us.

For Valentine’s Day, cook a fancy dinner at home. Set the mood with candlelight and a playlist of your favorite love songs.

How about a pajama brunch with heart-shaped pancakes and mimosas for Galentine’s Day? You could also have a Chick-fil-A movie marathon with cozy blankets and popcorn. One year, my girlfriends and I did a DIY face mask night with wine and rom-coms—it was simple but SO much fun!

2. Try a New Comfort Food Recipe

February bucket list idea: try a comfort food or soup recipe

February is prime comfort food season. There’s nothing better than a warm, homemade meal on a cold day. And what better way to spice up the season than by trying something new in the kitchen? It’s a chance to be adventurous and create something delicious!

  • Make a big pot of soup or chili – My go-to is a creamy tomato basil soup with grilled cheese sandwich on the side.
  • Bake a cozy winter dessert – Think gooey cinnamon rolls, a warm skillet cookie, or a decadent chocolate cake.
  • Try a trending recipe – Have you seen those viral hot chocolate bombs? They’re SO fun to make and perfect for February!

3. Have a Self-Care Spa Day at Home

February bucket list ideas

Let’s be honest—winter can rough our skin and mood. That’s why I love dedicating a day to pure self-care in February.

Create a spa-like atmosphere at home:

  • Draw a bubble bath with essential oils.
  • Use a hydrating face mask (because winter skin needs extra love!).
  • Light a cozy candle and play relaxing music.
  • Wear your softest, fuzziest bathrobe.

Bonus points if you make a warm cup of tea or a fancy latte to sip while you relax!

4. Binge-Watch a New Show or Movie

february bucket list ideas: binge-watch a new movie

February is the perfect time to snuggle up and finally watch that show or movie on your list.

Here are some fun ideas:

  • Romantic comedies for Valentine’s vibes (Love Actually, The Proposal, Crazy Rich Asians).
  • Winter-themed movies like The Holiday or Serendipity.
  • Binge-worthy shows (I just finished binge-watching Bridgerton, which was so good!).

Remember the ultimate cozy setup: a warm blanket, fuzzy socks, and a big bowl of popcorn!

5. Get Creative with DIY Valentine’s or Winter Crafts

February bucket list: make a Valentine's card or make winter crafts

I love a good DIY project, especially when it makes my home feel extra festive. Whether you’re crafting with kids or just feeling creative, here are some fun ideas:

  • Make homemade Valentine’s cards – Handwritten notes are extra special.
  • Create DIY winter décor – Think cozy garlands, hand-painted mugs, or snowflake window clings.
  • Put together a Valentine’s gift basket with chocolates, candles, and little self-care goodies.

A few years ago, I made heart-shaped bath bombs as Galentine’s Day gifts, and they were a huge hit!

6. Bake Something Sweet and Seasonal

February bucket list: bake something sweet

February is prime baking season, and I’m here for it!

Some fun ideas:

  • Heart-shaped sugar cookies with pink frosting, or these heart-shaped whoopie pies.
  • Homemade chocolate truffles (they look fancy but are super easy!).
  • A warm fruit crisp – Apple, berry or peach crisps are the perfect cozy dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

But one of my all-time favorite February baking traditions? Homemade s’mores – but with a twist! Instead of toasting marshmallows over a fire, I love baking them into ooey-gooey, chocolatey S’mores Cookie Bars. These bars have all the classic s’mores flavors—graham crackers, melty chocolate, and gooey marshmallows—all baked into one irresistible treat.

7. Enjoy a Winter Outdoor Activity

february bucket list ideas: go for a nature walk

Even though I love staying cozy inside, sometimes it’s nice to get outside and embrace winter.

Here are some fun ways to enjoy the season:

  • Go ice skating – Bonus points if it’s at an outdoor rink!
  • Try skiing or snowboarding – If you’re like me, you’ll love unwinding afterward with a cozy fireside treat, like a warm apple cider or a freshly baked cinnamon roll!
  • Take a winter nature walk – Bundle up and enjoy the crisp air.

If you live somewhere warm, try a sunset beach walk or a scenic hike—it’s still the perfect time to be outside!

8. Create a Cozy Reading Nook & Start a New Book

February bucket list: start reading a new book

There’s nothing like getting lost in a good book on a chilly February evening, especially when you’re curled up in a cozy reading nook. The soft blanket, the warm drink, and the twinkle lights all add to the ambiance, making it the perfect setting to dive into a new story.

Set up a cozy reading space:

  • Grab a soft blanket and a warm drink.
  • Add some twinkle lights for ambiance.
  • Pick a book that matches the season (romance, thrillers, or feel-good reads!).

Need recommendations? I recently read “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah—it was so emotional and beautifully written!

9. Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with a Fun Watch Party

February bucket list: Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with a Fun Watch Party

Even if you’re not a huge football fan, Super Bowl Sunday is all about the food!

  • Make a game-day snack spread with chicken wings, dips, and burger sliders.
  • Set up a cozy spot with pillows and blankets for the ultimate game-watching experience.
  • Try making a fun-themed drink (or a fancy mocktail!).

No matter how you celebrate, these tasty game day recipes will make your party a huge hit!

10. Plan a Mini Winter Getaway or Staycation

february bucket list ideas: plan a staycation or book a spa day

February is an excellent time to escape from routine, and what better way to embrace the season than with a February Bucket List?

  • Take a weekend road trip to a cozy cabin or a nearby winter wonderland.
  • Book a spa day or a cozy hotel staycation.
  • Create a staycation at home – Order takeout, light candles, and turn your space into a mini-retreat.

Sometimes, the best getaways are the ones that don’t require leaving home!

Conclusion

February is about embracing the cozy vibes, celebrating love in all forms, and making the most of the season. Whether you’re whipping up a warm dessert, snuggling up with a good book, or trying something new, I hope this February bucket list inspires you to enjoy every moment. Don’t forget to share your experiences with these activities. I’d love to hear about them!

A self-care spa day at home is a great idea. Winter can be hard on the body and mind, so relaxing and recharging is important. Plus curling up under a blanket and watching a good movie or binge-watching a show is always a good way to unwind.

These are awesome ideas for a fun February bucket list. I appreciate that it is written for adults, instead of just geared for families, although it can be enjoyed by both. I have hosted a Galentine’s party in the past, and I started a Silent Book Club last month. I think I’ll have to plan a spa day, maybe the evening after I go to the dentist!

I think I would couple a spa day with a movie day. That would really hit the spot.
