What’s Inside? Let’s Break It Down!

Let’s chat about what makes these S’mores Cookie Bars so irresistible. Every ingredient is vital in bringing that campfire s’mores feeling to your kitchen. Here’s what you’ll need:

s'mores cookie bars ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour: This gives the bars structure and that perfect chewy texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder: Helps the dough rise just enough for a tender crumb.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt: Enhances all the sweet flavors.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened: Adds rich flavor and keeps everything moist.
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed: Sweetens things up with a touch of molasses flavor, giving it that chewy goodness.
  • ½ cup granulated sugar: Balances out the crispy edges with a moist center.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Adding a warm, aromatic note deepens the flavor.
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature: Binds everything together and adds a bit of richness.
  • 1 container (7 oz) marshmallow creme: Gives you that gooey, sweet layer without the need for a campfire.
  • ½ cup graham cracker crumbs: Brings in that classic s’mores flavor with a bit of crunch.
  • 6 chocolate bars, broken into pieces: Melts into a rich, creamy chocolate layer.
  • ½ cup milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips: Because you can never have too much chocolate, right?

8. Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool in the pan before lifting them with the parchment paper. Once they’re cool, cut them into 15 squares and enjoy!

Tips for Perfect S’mores Cookie Bars

  • Use Room Temperature Ingredients: This makes mixing easier and gives you a smoother dough.
  • Don’t Overbake: For that gooey s’mores experience, be sure not to overbake. The bars should be just set in the middle.
  • Mix Up Your Chocolate: Feel free to experiment—try a mix of milk, dark, or even white chocolate for a fun twist!

How to Serve Them Up

These bars are amazing, but if you want to take them to the next level, try serving them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They’re also great for packing in lunchboxes or enjoying with a cold glass of milk.

Storing Your S’mores Cookie Bars

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Want to keep them a bit longer? Pop them in the fridge—just let them come to room temp before serving for the best texture.
