As you jump from one activity to the next, work, take care of the house, and take care of other people in the house, sometimes you forget about yourself. If you haven't taken time to recharge your mind and body, you are heading for a burnou t.
Burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that is caused by excessive and prolonged stress. At the end of the day, no matter how someone chooses to reduce their stress levels, as long as it works, that's all that matters.
I know you are busy, so here are 8 simple ways to recharge your mind and body and prevent burnout.
1. Take a Bath
I am not talking about the rushed kind of bath where the kids are busting in every 5 seconds to tattle on someone. Once the kids are in bed, light some candles, pour in your favorite essential oil, some bath bombs or bubbles and take a nice, long, relaxing bath. A nice glass of wine goes perfectly with this occasion and don't forget to lock the door.
2. Stretch
If you don't have time to exercise, stretching is the next best thing. When your body is stressed, it is more prone to injury. Stretching just 5-minutes a day can help recharge your body, relieve aches and pains, and make you feel better. Getting the body and mind in good shape is just one positive way to recharge.
3. Get Adequate Sleep
Yes, I know this can be tough, but getting enough sleep is crucial not only to your body, but also to your mind. You have to give your mind time to wind down and your body a chance to recover from the day. If you aren't getting at least 7-9 hours of sleep every night, you need to start changing your routine.
We all deserve a good night's sleep. So when life keeps me up at night, I take ZzzQuil Pure Zzz's De-Stress and Sleep Gummies. This drug-free formula includes Ashwagandha to help calm my mind and manage stress before bed. I love the Blackberry Vanilla flavor in these gummies!
If you prefer the liquid form, there's also ZzzQuil Pure Zzz's Melatonin Liquid. It works naturally with your body to support sleep and is specially formulated with an optimal level of melatonin, shown to help regulate your sleep cycle without next day grogginess*. It tastes great and contains a unique botanical blend of lavender, chamomile, lemon balm and valerian root. If you're anything like me who reads labels on products carefully before buying them, you'll be glad to know that ZzzQuil Pure Zzz's Melatonin Liquid is free of lactose, alcohol, artificial flavors and corn syrup.

Both ZzzQuil Pure Zzz's De-Stress and Sleep Gummies and ZzzQuil Pure Zzz's Melatonin Liquid help me calm my mind and relax my body to have the restful sleep I need. What's better, I have the peace of mind knowing that these products are drug-free and non-habit forming. If you want to try them, they're NEW and ONLY available at Walmart! 4. Write it Out on a Journal
If you have a lot going on, writing in a journal is a great way to let it all out without burning yourself out. Writing can be relaxing and it is a way for you to express all those feelings, emotions, and things you wanted to say out on paper instead of bottled up in your head.
5. Stop Multitasking
One of the best ways you can recharge your mind and body on a daily basis is to give up multitasking. Multitasking is the quickest and easiest way to get stressed out. Instead, try making a list of things you need to get done and work on them one at a time. This will keep you organized and less stressed.
6. Do adult Coloring
Coloring is great for winding down after a long day. It helps your mind to focus on something less stressful, and it is a great way to get your body ready to sleep. I personally love color by number apps as well. It gives me a mindless activity while I drift off to sleep.
7. Go Camping or Into Nature
Studies show that people who go outside into green spaces of undeveloped land have a reduced risk of diseases such as type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stress, high blood pressure and premature death. So go out and visit a park, or go on a hike or go camping with your family.
8. Take Breaks from People
Whether you know it or not, your body is affected by the energies of everyone around you especially negative people. Taking a break from people and just being absolutely alone is a great way to recharge your mind. It gives you a chance to breathe and do for yourself. Even if it is just a 5-minute walk around the block, locking yourself in the closet, or going to a hotel for a night, being alone may be exactly what you need.
