Here are the 5 ways that I take care of my body:

Incorporating a Daily Workout

You don’t have to follow any specific workout. I simply just choose to be active each day. I have no workout routine. I use my elliptical trainer at home for 15-20 minutes, and then I spend a little time doing simple aerobic and stretching exercises. Literally, only a half hour a day will do wonders. If you can’t get half an hour in, just start with a 10-minute jog-in-place routine. Anything is better than nothing.

Eating Better

It can be tough to stick to a diet! Especially those diets that ask you to cut certain things out of your life. Instead of trying to stick to one of those diets and failing, I have just decided to incorporate more wholesome foods into my eating habits.

Getting Enough Sleep

Not getting enough sleep can lead to weight gain! This is because our body needs to be able to rest. Research suggests that adults need 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Start by going to bed just 10-minutes earlier and continue this pattern until you are getting 7-9 hours of sleep every night.

Drinking More Water

Our bodies are made up of 70% water! When a car is out of coolant (its water), it overheats and shuts down. Well, the same thing happens with our bodies. Without enough water, we begin to feel sluggish, tired and ready to shut down. I try to drink several 8 ounce glasses of water per day. It is recommended to drink 1 liter per day.

Unplugging

Life is stressful and stress can wreak a lot of havoc on your body. In fact, it can lead to health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. So, it is always important to unplug from the stresses of life. You can do this by taking a bath, meditating, going for a walk, or just leaving the house and going for a drive for 10 minutes. Let go of your thoughts, breathe in deeply and relax. Unplugging from everyone and everything (phone and electronics included) allows you to de-stress your body.

    Such a wonderful topic. So many people are getting sick and it’s all because we aren’t treating our body right. Drinking more water and getting enough sleep are all things that I have been making sure that I do now. I used to stay up late at nights, i no longer anymore. I make sure to get my 8 hours so I can function properly in the day.

    We do a lot of hiking in the Summer and these would be perfect to take with us and I’m sure my husband would love to find these in his lunchbox! They look delicious! I’ve got the eating healthy down and now I need to exercise more!

    I have incorporated all of the tips into my daily life and I can definitely feel a change. Since I’ve began working out more and eating right I don’t feel sluggish anymore. Now if only I could consistently unplug more often my life wouldn’t be as stressful. I pinned this by the way!

    I make sure I stay hydrated throughout the day. I can only do low impact exercises so that’s walking and swimming. Another way I take care of my body is to adhere to my medication schedule (I am diabetic).
