Spring is almost here, and when everything blooms and blossoms, so should your wardrobe. We are craving longer, sunny days, lighter colors and fun styles.
To help you look your best this spring, I’ve put together some of my top fashion essentials to kick off the season!
1. Tie Dye
Tie dye started to emerge as a fashion influencer in 2018, but the look has now taken over the catwalk. This year, Tie Dye is in. However, it’s not just any tie die that is making the catwalk ladies and gentlemen. Tie dye is getting a modern update this spring. Kaleidoscope tie dye dresses, layering tie dye over florals, and fluoro approaches are what’s hot.
2. Straw Hats
This spring, we are rocking the straw hats. Not only are they a great way to keep cool in the sun, but they can go with almost any style. Whether you are wearing a floral printed dress or a white top with some jeans, these Tenth Street Hats can be found on celebrities like Jacquemus, social influencers, and all over the streets. So, if you don’t have a straw hat, you better get one to kick off the season right.
3. Warm Rustic Colors
This spring isn’t all about the pastel pinks, blues, and yellows. Instead, we are bringing back the rusty reds and burnt orange colors. These orange and wine colors work seamlessly together for a truly chic look. Of course, you don’t want to forget about mustard yellow either. Dive into the color trend with some trendy burnt orange crop pants.
4. Leotards
Leotards are coming back with a hot new look. Because they have long been linked with ballet dancers, it was a key inspiration for fashion designers everywhere. A Mia Blush Short Sleeve Bodysuit can be paired with wide-leg trousers for fuss-free streamlined silhouette. Or for a fancier look, pair it with a skirt.
5. Bows
One of this spring’s most feminine trends is apparel with bows. Bows are losing their prissy connotations and becoming a backbone for the feminist movement. Dresses with deep reds and bows and mustard yellow and bows are all the rage. This Lisa Marie Fernandez maxi dress is one you will want to get.
6. Hand-Woven Bags
I have a thing for hand-woven bags – be it made of rattan, wicker or bamboo. They look so cool and they can be worn in the summers too! They’ll look cute with any flow-y dress or jeans and a white shirt. Personal picks: I love this Beauty Yaya crossbody bag with bow clasp and this Rattan Nation handwoven round rattan crossbody bag.
7. Ruffles
The ruffle skirts from boutique retailers like Lily Lulu Fashion dominated last summer and will continue to through spring. Look for languid, smooth shapes, cascades of frills, feathers, and childlike associations. The more frill and ruffles, the better. Even pants like these petite ruffle sweatpants are becoming the fashion statement of the year.
8. Puff Sleeves
Did you know that one of the top fashion searches in 2018 was 80s fashion. According to Google, this makes sense since the spring runways shifted from the 90s to the decade before embracing the puff sleeves with cinched waists. Along with puff sleeves is blazer jackets, so why not combine it with a Maggie Marilyn Puff Sleeve Blazer Dress!
Those looks very comfy. It is not summer yet but the weather is somehow getting hot.
It’s so great to see what trends are coming into style. I don’t think I could ever work a straw hat into my wardrobe, but some of the others are really helpful.

If you asked me a year ago I would’ve told you that I wouldn’t be caught dead in ruffles, but the simplistic way they are done these days is quite pretty.
