Need Help with Small Home Chores? Hire a Puls Technician!

This post is sponsored by Puls. All views and text are my own.

Summertime means cooking out, swimming, going on a vacation and believe it or not, for me and my husband, it’s also an ideal time for tackling some small home projects, or even switching up some of the furniture around the house. We really love our current 22-year-old home and around the spring and summer, we always try to do something like re-painting a room, doing some minor renovations or just to improve its overall look.

If you already follow me on Instagram, you know how excited I was to share our last year’s basement makeover. We love how it turned out!

This year, my husband and I decided it’s time to we decided to update our two younger boys’ bedrooms. They’re now getting bigger and older and have already outgrown the current decor and theme of their bedrooms. Even though we mostly hired a professional to paint most of the rooms when we first moved into our home six years ago, we like to DIY a lot. BUT.. my husband will be the first one to admit that he doesn’t like (or have the patience) to do some of the ‘handyman’ chores around the house.

Like mounting a TV on the wall in our son G’s bedroom. Yep.

I know it sounds easy. But do you know that mounting a TV on a wall requires not only the installation of the TV, but also making sure the TV is securely mounted, the wires are concealed and that the TV is working properly? When we had our old TV, we placed it on a stand and tucked the wired behind so you couldn’t see it. Now we have a TV which you can mount on the walls, at least we won’t have to deal with loose cables anymore. Nowadays, you can buy TV mounting kits at a hardware store. But if you’re anything like us and you’re not always the confident DIY type, mounting a heavy TV on the wall can be quite intimidating.

So recently, I was introduced to Puls. Now what could be a better timing?! I jumped at the offer to check out their service because yes, we need help mounting a TV!

What is Puls and how does it work?

Puls is a team of home service pros and technicians who are carefully vetted and screened to offer services like installation and repairs for every device in your home, from dishwashers to garage doors to TVs. They are a platform that quickly finds a Puls technician in your area and match them to the job you need done.

Our Puls Tech Experience

Once we had our appointment set up for a tech to mount our TV, I received a text message from Puls confirming the date of my appointment.

Our tech, Jose, arrived promptly and was very courteous and knowledgeable. He showed us the process of installing the TV on our wall, and was very patient when my husband and I was deciding where to position the TV. We just got our son G a new bedroom furniture set with a desk for his computer, and because of that, it took us a little while to decide where to position the TV. But Jose waited patiently and gave us helpful suggestions when we were discussing this whole process. The whole installation took less than an hour from start to finish and we were very pleased with the results. Jose made sure that we were happy with the install and answered all our questions before he left.

Although it is nice to do and fix things on your on, there are some chores that is best let the experts do it. Plus when it’s affordable, then why not.

It’s perfectly fine to hire somebody for some household chores, TV mounting looks complicated to do, if mine wasn’t done yet I would rather pay for it to be done.

  5. 08/08/2019 / 2:12 am

This is such an interesting concept! I have wished for things like this on many an occasion, but never actually seen one in practice.

it is good to hire people for small home chores. TV Mounting is even more important because it does take a skill to install that properly!

That’s really great that there is a service like this one. I remember my grandma used to wait until we came to visit so she could have some stuff done around the house. This would have been more ideal so she didn’t have to wait so long between visits (we lived in different states).

  12. 08/07/2019 / 7:56 am

I have so many projects that need to be completed so I will give them a call soon

I could use help! I can think of so many projects where Puls would be a great choice!

  17. 08/07/2019 / 2:28 am

I haven’t heard of Puls before now. From your review, they offer great service. Who won’t use or recommend companies with awesome service? I definitely would.

I could always use a little bit of extra help around the house. The small chores really add up!

  19. 08/07/2019 / 12:00 am

That’s great service! I’d rather use a professional service provider than wrecking my techie stuff.

    08/06/2019 / 11:24 pm

Yes, please as I need this service. I’m disabled and can’t do anything around the house. This would help me a ton!

  21. 08/06/2019 / 8:30 pm

I’ve never heard of Puls before, but it sounds like such a great way to get things done around the house! I wonder if they’re available in Toronto, where I live.

  22. 08/06/2019 / 8:00 pm

How awesome! I have never heard of them, but I could use a service like this from time to time.

  23. 08/06/2019 / 7:53 pm

This is a great service to provide. It would be so handy for me. I always have all sorts of odd jobs that need doing.

I could definitely use them for some small chores we have at our new home! Some furniture to put together, shelving, and tv’s to put up.

The TV looks so neat on the wall. Very good work. I have not hanged a TV yet but if I do so would definitely take your ideas

    08/06/2019 / 6:41 pm

The Puls technicians who did your TV mounting seem very competent. I don’t do any DIY and also use a similar service offered by my building maintenance contractors.

    08/06/2019 / 4:14 pm

Those small chores add up and FEEL SO HUGE. This would be a big help!

  28. 08/06/2019 / 3:56 pm

This would be so helpful. My husband is not handy at all. He just hung my son’s tv and it is crooked and we have 6 extra holes in the wall.

  29. 08/06/2019 / 3:49 pm

With us living over an hour away from my parents, this service would be a great help to them. Often they need help doing simple things that they can no longer do themselves. We try to get as much done on our visits as we can but often there are things that we just don’t get done for them. Currently, I have to install a ceiling light and two light switches that someone like a Puls tech could do.

What a great service! I know several people who could use a service like Puls.

  31. 08/06/2019 / 3:05 pm

I need a Puls Technician right now! It will solve my home problems! I’ll contact them now!

  32. 08/06/2019 / 2:53 pm

Having a pro help would be so great! We always end up with extra holes in the wall. hahaha. But we are getting better!!

  33. 08/06/2019 / 2:44 pm

Such integrator of technical services are so useful provided their standards of timeliness are immaculate.

  34. 08/06/2019 / 2:38 pm

Thanks for the heads up about this service. The hubs is a handyman, but there are some things that is just a little hard for him to do. 🙂

  35. 08/06/2019 / 2:04 pm

I think it’s great that Puls only hires the best of the best! I’d definitely trust them and it’d be so nice to use a service like this!

  36. 08/06/2019 / 12:58 pm

Here in the Philippines, when my mom needs handyman work, she calls my Papa’s old staff and they can do all kinds of things–even plumbing and electrical work.

In my building, which is a boutique hotel, when I need handywork done in the clinic I call the bldg maintenance—or any of the guards in the basement.

This is exactly what I need. Thanks for all these details!

  38. 08/06/2019 / 8:11 am

Hmmmm. I am more interested on what they have done already.. like what solutions they have provided already.. for me to have more ideas.

It is no easy job to put up a tv on a wall. I think hiring someone just so the quality is better is a good idea. It looks neat and really good.

We have been wanting to install an AV system with all the speakers the previous home owner left behind. A PULS technician sounds perfect for this job. We have no idea where to start.

  44. 08/06/2019 / 1:55 am

What a great service! I would use them. I still have a TV that needs to be hung up and lots of little things.

  45. 08/06/2019 / 1:53 am

It is nice to have some resources like this when it comes to getting things done. I get frustrated at times and it would be good to have a person who could do these jobs.

  46. Marissa
    08/06/2019 / 1:46 am

I could use the help for sure. This is great to know and if I ever need to I’ll for sure consider them!

  47. 08/06/2019 / 1:35 am

  48. Stacie
    08/06/2019 / 1:11 am

This is great to know! I like that they are very selective with technicians – that’s a big plus for me!

  49. 08/06/2019 / 12:59 am

Sounds great! My husband is handy but there are some things that are out of this know to. Looks like he did a great job installing your t.,v!

  50. Ashley
    08/05/2019 / 11:55 pm

If my husband wasn’t handy I would def look into this. I’ll have to tell my friend about it though.

  51. Pam
    08/05/2019 / 11:49 pm

This sounds like a helpful service for people who aren’t comfortable with DIY and home improvement projects. I can see a lot of people benefitting from hiring Puls.

  52. 08/05/2019 / 11:12 pm

i’ve never heard of PULS but it sounds like a program that can be useful. i have started using my phone as a level which is so nice!

    Joy at The Joyous Living

  53. 08/05/2019 / 11:11 pm

This is fantastic. My husband is a great handyman, but short on time, so it’s challenging to get the small tasks done. This would be a great service to meet that need!

  54. Amy
    08/05/2019 / 11:03 pm

Wow, what an excellent service! People like my mom could really benefit from this since she lives alone and often needs things done that we cannot help with.

  55. 08/05/2019 / 9:17 pm

It really is neat that there are services like this around for people who need help with small chores. I know a lot of single moms who would much rather hire someone like this than try to beg their father or family members to come assist. I’ll have to keep this in mind.

  56. 08/05/2019 / 8:21 pm

My husband would love for a handy man to come to our house. He does not like to fix things.

  57. 08/05/2019 / 8:18 pm

I’ve never heard of this company but I am definitely going to try them. I have a lot of little projects I need to get done right now and this would be perfect for that.

  58. 08/05/2019 / 7:53 pm

Hiring out anything electrical is smart in my book. Trying to DIY it and winding up with an issue just isn’t worth it.

  59. Liz Mays
    08/05/2019 / 6:45 pm

It’s awesome that this service was so helpful! I know we have some tasks around the help we could use some assistance with.

  60. 08/05/2019 / 5:48 pm

Oh cool, I will have to keep Puls in mind for sure. I do have small chores that need to be done and I have no clue how to do some. My husband works crazy shifts so he doesn’t always have the time.

  61. 08/05/2019 / 4:36 pm

That TV looked so good and well mounted. I have to try these technicians but I have so many little odds and ends I don’t think he would ever leave.

  62. 08/05/2019 / 4:33 pm

We absolutely could use help. All those small tasks add up and soon you have an overwhelming list! I asked my hubs what he wanted for his birthday. His response — “to have SOMETHING done in the house.” LOL

  63. 08/05/2019 / 3:27 pm

Services like that are amazing as it takes the hassle of doing those jobs and can focus on other aspects of life. Even though those jobs sound simple if it isn’t done right then it becomes a headache spending more time to correct it.

  64. 08/05/2019 / 3:07 pm

ok this is def something we would love to have i hat all the cords everywhere and i think it looks so sleek thanks to this- cant wait to get ours too!

  65. 08/05/2019 / 2:53 pm

This is a great way to hire someone when a small home chore is just out of my comfort zone – like installing a TV on the wall and making sure all the wires are hidden.
