Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

  • Crust
  • 2 ? cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Cornmeal for skillet
  • Pizza Toppings
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
  • Choice of toppings
  • Pepperoni
  • Italian Sausage
  • Bacon
  • Ham
  • Green Pepper
  • Onion
  • Mushroom


  1. For the Crust:
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined
  3. Add water and olive oil together in a measuring cup
  4. Slowly add the water mixture to the flour mixture, mixing the two together as you add the water mixture
  5. Mix the dough with a wooden spoon or your hands until the dough becomes soft but not sticky and well combined. If the dough is dry add water a tablespoon at a time until the dough is soft
  6. For the Pizza
  7. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  8. Preheat cast iron skillet in the oven for 3-5 minutes
  9. While the pan heats, roll out the dough into a round shape, big enough to cover the bottom of your pan, plus about an inch up the sides. Allow the dough to relax and re-stretch if needed.
