Plus, the funny characters make this movie truly entertaining for your young reader while she learns new vocabulary words and having fun!

The Cat takes Sally and Nick to Africa--where they learn how animals are either predators or prey, that elephants tend to favor one tusk over the other, how to tell the difference between a white and black rhino (both of which are gray!), that a leopar'd black spots are called rosettes and much, much more!   

My Take: If you are introducing your beginning reader to the African Wildflife, this is a great book that shows and teaches the many variety of animals and their characteristics. The illustrations of animals in this book are superb! It's also a great book to learn new vocabulary words related to animals in the safari. Both of my five and six year old boys really enjoyed this book. What a wonderful addition to our The Cat in the Hat library collection! :)
