One of the things I appreciate about the advancing technology is its ability to make things better and a lot easier for us. It’s easier for everyone nowadays luckily, so most people can benefit from advancement of technology. For example, even simple things like transferring money has become a lot easier. Further to this though, money transfers are not the only thing that advancing technology has helped. Take, for example, the electronic navigation system that we all use in our cars now that helps us get to our destinations much quicker and a lot easier. Remember ten years or so ago when it didn’t even exist, and we had to look at a physical map while we’re driving to get to where we’re going? I clearly remember those many times when I got lost while driving because I missed a turn or two. Very frustrating. To top it off, I’m not very keen about looking at maps and navigation in general, so this electronic navigation system is one technology advancement that I can really appreciate now, and one that I can say, has made my life a lot easier! 🙂
Same thing is true as sending a money transfer online to my friends and family around the world through Western Union. Now, this is another advancement in technology that I’m really, really thankful for. Due to these new methods of money transfer, accepting money from abroad has never been easier than it is today. There are so many companies out there that can help you transfer money abroad, you just have to make sure that you find the right one for you.
Not a lot of you know that I have siblings who live in the Philippines. In 2011, we were deeply devastated when the disastrous typhoon Sendong hit Cagayan de Oro, a small city in the Northern Mindanao island of the Philippines (and where most of our relatives live). So many lives and homes were lost from this great storm. Out of our desire to help the victims of this disaster, my sister (who lives in New York) and I worked together to raise funds for those who were affected. Many of our family and friends here in the U.S donated money, clothes and canned goods and through Western Union, we were able to quickly send the money that we raised here in the U.S. to help the typhoon Sendong victims. That was truly a very sobering experience for me and my family and one that we can never.. ever.. forget.
To say the least, I can’t tell you how many times I have trusted Western Union personally when it comes to helping me transfer money quickly! They are very efficient and the service they offer to consumers is one that I can swear by because I have used it numerous times and I’m a very happy customer so far!
Western Union believes that when money moves, better things happen… and I am one true believer of that. Whether you need to transfer money help a family in need.. like when a child goes to college, or help a family business expand, or for when unexpected emergencies happen, or simply to send a gift to someone you love who is far, the money you transfer through Western Union arrives the moment its needed.
Western Union also believes that moving money for better means moving money for a better world creating value for individuals, businesses and for society. Because of this, they created the Chain of Betters project. Its an idea that empowers people with the opportunity to change the lives of others. As the money moves around the world, creating a chain of good deeds, together we can start to change lives in ways we wouldn’t have imagined was possible. This isnt just saying money moves for better. This is proving it, together.
Watch this video to see why Western Union is creating a chain of good deeds to spread around the world. Welcome to the #ChainOfBetters!
