Another fun summer activity idea for kids this summer is taking them out to go roller skating- for free!
Yes, many local skating centers all over the country are participating in the Kids Skate Free program. Not only that roller skating is a great way to increase muscular strength and cardio-respiratory endurance, it’s also a fantastic way to burn calories – anywhere from 330 to 600 calories per hour!
In Virginia, you can go to the following locations:
Skate N Fun Zone
7878 Sudley Road
FunQuest Family Entertainment Center
327 Graves Mill Rd
Rollerdome Family Fun Center
4902 Williamsburg Rd
In Maryland, these skating centers are participating too!
1082 Rt 3 South
Lanham Skating Center
9901 Lanham Severn Rd
For other participating Kids Skate Free locations in the U.S., visit KidsSkateFree.com. If you don’t find any participating location in your area, you can also print this letter straight from the KidsSkateFree website to request for your chosen skating center location to participate in the program.
And don’t forget, you can also take your kids to go bowling for free! Or have them participate in Summer Reading Programs for kids available at a bookstore or the local library nearest you or on other days, take them to a movie that will only cost you a buck or less!
