Summer Craft Idea: DIY Upcycled Mason Jars

June 23, 2014 By Jocelyn Brown Leave a Comment

I don’t know if you all noticed, but mason jars are becoming a hot trend in crafting.  It’s amazing what you can create out of these old jars. I’m glad I can share these fun, DIY and budget-friendly craft ideas using upcycled mason jars from Country Woman.

Many of the materials you’ll need are likely already lying around the house and Country Woman provides step-by-step directions for each craft so you can create them with ease.

Here are some of Country Woman’s Mason jar crafts for your home:

Photo Frame Mason Jar Craft: DIY crafts like this one can make great gifts or decorations around the house. Glue a picture on the lid of the Mason jar, and then attach a binder clip underneath it to create a mini frame stand. For a full list of materials and instructions, go here.

Mason Jar Votive Holders Craft: This is another great DIY craft to hang outdoors for a family party or add some fun decorations to your home! All you need is some loose sand, gravel or rocks and a candle to create a Mason jar lantern. For a full list of materials and instructions, go here.

Pin Cushion Mason Jar Craft: All you’ll need for this craft is some extra cardboard, fabric, and fiberfill. Create the perfect pin cushion or storage container for anything you may need. For a full list of materials and instructions, go here.

For additional resourceful, re-imagined ideas and more, please visit: www.countrywomanmagazine.com/crafts/, or download the digital version of Country Woman on the iPad, Nook, Kindle or Google Play & Android. Many of these projects are in their August/September issue (on sale July 8th). Country Woman is a country lifestyle magazine for women who live in or long for the country life and offers great tips about home keeping and gardening, crafts, food and entertaining and more!

About Hip Mama’s Place

December 2, 2007 By Jocelyn Brown Leave a Comment

Hi! My name is Jocelyn Brown, Founder and Editor of Hip Mama’s Place.

I’m a teacher by profession and have taught elementary school for six years before I decided to settle in as a stay at home mom to take care of my two little boys.

In early 2007, I stumbled upon a mom blog that inspired me so much to create my own blog, Hip Mama’s Place. I’ve always loved writing so Hip Mama’s Place became a great outlet for it. Hip Mama’s Place was first a hobby… then, it became a fantastic way for me to share my product finds, various services, local activities and wonderful deals that I know parents like me appreciate knowing about! I love sharing and I know as a mom, I am constantly looking for ideas to entertain my family, to try new recipes or to find ways to make my everyday routine a lot easier and more fun! I wanted Hip Mama’s Place to be a great resource for parents and more!

Needless to say, little did I know that Hip Mama’s Place will become so much a part of my life!

In the years since I started Hip Mama’s Place, I have created friendships and have worked as a brand ambassador for many high quality brands such as Bosch, Wisk, Sears, Food Lion, Verizon Wireless, Coca-Cola and more! At Hip Mama’s Place, you will also find many other ideas moms seek – home decorating, health, fitness and beauty tips, delicious recipes, money-saving tips and deals, and craft ideas that are simple and fun for the whole family!

My goal is to make Hip Mama’s Place not only a helpful site that brings moms the latest trends in mom and baby products, but also offer helpful money-saving ideas, family-friendly events, fun giveaways for the whole family, giving back to the community and more!

I am married to my wonderful husband of 4 plus years and we live in Northern Virginia with our three lovable boys – Jordan, Gabriel and Jaden in the age ranges 7 to 17, and our super adorable Siberian kitty cat named Oscar. When I am not writing for Hip Mama’s Place, you will find me in my home studio creating handmade jewelry pieces for Jocelyn Brown Jewelry, traveling with my husband and kids, or spending time with them and Oscar in our quiet and beautiful Northern Virginia home.

If you have any questions about Hip Mama’s Place or if you are a brand and would like to work with me, please send me an email at [email protected]

Thank you for stopping by and visiting Hip Mama’s Place!

Love always,
Jocelyn
