My husband and I, along with our teenage son Jordan, were invited to try some of the dinner offerings at Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar at Tysons Corner, Virginia last Tuesday night and we were absolutely impressed!  We instantly liked the warm, relaxed atmosphere the minute we stepped into the restaurant. The restaurant manager, Brian Carpinello, and his whole staff were so welcoming when we entered the door.

I can say, the menu is huge it was hard to choose because everything looks yummy!  But we picked the Traditional Guacamole (fresh avocados smashed with tomatillos, onions, cilantro and lime juice) for starters and it came with their house-made blend of yucca, plaintain, malanga and corn chips. The guac tasted soooo good we had to ask for a second batch of the mixed chips!  🙂

For drinks,  we wanted to try some of their yummy cocktails and since I was feeling festive for Fall, I got the Pumpkin Spiced Mojito (with a touch of rum) and my husband had the Spiced Red Sangria.

Jordan, of course, had soda with his meal.

Also the restaurant is celebrating Rum Appreciation Month now through November 1st and I wanted to try one of their Chef’s Specials: the Ribeye with Rum Peppercorn Sauce – a sumptuous dinner meal featuring  a 21-day dry-aged ribeye, garlic kale, fresh-cut rites, El Dorado Rum peppercorn sauce… which I enjoyed so much! I am a small eater so I always have leftover food when I order any full meal at a restaurant. So it also made for a great lunch the next day! 😉

My husband had the Grilled Skirt Steak Churrasco – an amazing blend of Latin flavors featuring marinated skirt steak served over pinto beans and Cuban Sofrito rice topped with Fresh Housemade Chimichurri… yummm!  Our son had the Rio Style Chicken Tacos which he raved about so much even long after we left the restaurant! He said he would go to Paladar again! 🙂

Even though I live so close to this restaurant, I’ve only been once with the kids. We really enjoyed our dinner! I didn’t know kids eat free there, so I’ll definitely have to go back with them! Thanks so much! And the guac and mojito look SO GOOD.
