Check out how we did our Minecraft-Themed Game Truck Party!
Back in August, I was given the opportunity to throw a complimentary birthday party for my son G, who recently turned nine this year. This party was to test out the Game Truck Party – a Video Game party. The birthday boy is really into Minecraft video games so I decided to give him a Minecraft-Themed Game Truck Party.
If you’ve heard about kid birthday parties in a truck, then you’ve probably heard about Game Truck Party. It’s the hottest new way to celebrate your kid’s birthday and it’s totally worth it! Read on…
I’m usually full of details whenever I throw any party – from matching decor themes and colors to cakes and utensils. But for this party, I wanted it to be more laid-back. With my whole family from New York and Florida visiting and staying in our house for the summer that week, my motto was to simplify everything.
The birthday boy was happy to wear his Minecraft shirt for the occasion too!
Game Truck Party
So, here’s my honest review of Game Truck Party. First, I want to say that this party was totally stress-free. Our party was scheduled to start at11:30am until 1:30pm. The Game Truck Party truck pulled up in front of our house about half an hour before the start time and everything was already set up for the kids to play video games in the truck at exactly 11:30am.
The kids thought the truck was so cool with the giant HDTVs, consoles and all their favorite games! With G being a huge fan of Minecraft and Skylanders video games, this party was total heaven for him, which I was so happy about! They had the option to play on their own or together using something similar to this Minecraft server list to allow them to join the same world as each other so they were able to build together!
Our Game Party Truck party coordinator was very kind and helpful and was there for the entire party to supervise the kids. He showed the kids how to use or operate the video game gadgets and such.
We also invited a few ‘big kids’ to the party – my nephew (who is 21) and his friends enjoyed playing with the video games too, while my husband and I were just as entertained watching the kids having fun in the cool party truck!
Overall, the Game Truck Party party really lived up to our expectations. Not only did it help me throw a stress-free birthday party (all our guests didn’t have to be inside our house the whole time), it also made for a fun, memorable event for my son G, his friends and our whole family! The only complaint by this birthday boy? Two hours wasn’t enough for playing his favorite video games, lol. If I could have a personal suggestion for Game Truck Party, it is to have an option for customers to add an hour or two to the 2 hour party time limit. But still, we would do another GameTruck Party in the future! Everything was just awesome and the Minecraft-Themed Game Truck Party was easy to plan and coordinate from start to finish!
Party Games, Food and Other Details
For our Minecraft-Themed Game Truck Party, we ordered pizza from our fave pizza place, a big chicken nuggets party platter from ChickfilA, trays of veggies, fresh fruits and dips and lots of potato chips!
Also, since I figured we won’t be needing a lot of games to entertain the kids as Game Truck Party will already have that covered, we just let our kids play and run around the playground. The kids and adults enjoyed the outdoor games too, like the bean bag and ring toss games. The one thing we love about our house is that we have a huge backyard and play area and it’s a totally cool space for outdoor parties! Our adult friends and family were mostly just hanging out, eating and chattering the beautiful summer afternoon away!
I loved how our very first Game Truck Party party turned out! I highly recommend this party for kids who love playing video games and mommies like me who hate cleaning up after a big party! That’s my kind of party. 🙂
It was also cool that my birthday boy received a bag of goodies from Game Truck Party that included an awesome GameTruckParty.com logo in his shirt size at the end of the party.
My own personal tips: Be sure that you have ample space for the Game Truck to do this party. Also, give the party coordinator a nice tip at the end of the party. In our case, we gave him a tip and offered him food since we had plenty to share.
