One of the things on my to-do list this week is to clean out our fridge, make a trip to the grocery store and buy more fresh fruits and vegetables. I’m so glad that earlier today (despite the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in our area), I was able to cross out those things from my to-do list. Now I can plan to cook more of my favorite healthy meals! 🙂
For almost a year now, I have been practicing being a “flexitarian“– someone who eats mostly a vegetarian diet but eats meat on occasion. I did it mostly because I was getting worried about my weight and I was feeling really tired all the time. My nutritionist suggested I eat more vegetables and fruits and less meat and that‘s what I have been doing for the last eleven months. It’s really done wonders for my health and my energy level has improved greatly! But I admit, it gets challenging once in a while because I love cooking with real meat in my favorite meals.
But thanks to healthier food options like Veggie Patch, I get to eat delicious “meat” meals like Pepper Steak , spaghetti that tastes like they got real meatballs in them, burgers and more – the healthier way! Meatless meals but still tastes really great I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself of the foods I want to eat!
Speaking of eating healthier, do you know that October is National Vegetarian Awareness Month? To celebrate, I want to introduce you to Veggie Patch – healthy and convenient vegetarian and meatless food options that include family-friendly entrees, kid-approved vegetable and cheese bites and other tasty appetizers! Veggie Patch food products are really delicious and are ideal for snacks, lunch and dinner. I’m a super busy mom and wife on the go and I also love the convenience Veggie Patch food products offer me.
But I don’t want you to just take my word for it. I want you to try it! So go visit their website at www.veggiepatch.com and see all the delicious, healthy food products they offer. Who knows, you might like to try a few of the recipes on the website too — like the Veggie Pizza with Meatless Meatballs as pictured here… yumm! 🙂
