Time-Saving Low Maintenance Skincare Tips for Oily Skin in Winter

When seasons change, so do our lifestyle, our clothes, food, and skincare routine too. Different skin reacts differently in every season; thus, how well you care for your skin, based on the weather, has a significant role in defining its health.

If you have oily skin, you will need to follow a strategic skincare routine during winter. As cold and dry winter air can lead to dehydration,  it is a must to have a mattifying face cream to balance the hydration in the skin without intensifying excess oil production. What one needs is some low-maintenance skincare tips for oily skin in winter that are timesaving.

Let us have a look at some skincare tips specially meant for individuals with oily skin.

Cleanse your skin to remove impurities

Invest in a non-drying cleanser with ingredients such as glycolic acid and salicylic acid that can remove the oil without causing any drying. You can cleanse the skin every day, once in the morning and before going to bed, for regular and gentle cleansing of the oily skin.

Balance the moisture

As a toner helps balance the pH levels in the skin, it ensures that your skin retains all the moisture and remains in a neutral state. Toning is essential to get rid of any traces of impurities lodged deep within the skin and keeps the skin damp. A well-balanced and clean skin means unclogged pores that can absorb other products.

 Apply serums

It is a good idea to include serums in your skincare routine as they can help address specific concerns of oily skin. Most serums can easily penetrate the skin and are beneficial for those with oily skin when used in the right quality and in the right way.

Seal the moisture

Use a good quality moisturizer during the inters to bring back the life in your skin. Moisturizers help ensure firmness of the skin and seal the skin’s moisture, and as a result, the skin feels soft and firm. The crucial part is to look for the right moisturizer with active ingredients that do not clog the pores.

Use face oils

Do not avoid face oils, even if you have oily skin, as they are not what you think. Unlike moisturizers that penetrate deep into the skin, face oils sit on the top of the skin’s surface and provide a soft glow. People with oily skin can shop for face oils with a lighter formula.

Don’t skip sunscreen

Sunscreen is simply a must even in the winter, and one must select a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 50. Whether you are indoors or outdoors, apply sunscreen every morning and in the afternoon. Go for gel-based sunscreens that do not feel heavy or greasy on the skin.

Stay well hydrated

Hydration is essential for all skin types, and those with oily skin must limit any exposure to hot water as it can lead to increased oil production. Drink adequate water and avoid washing your skin with hot water, as it can strip the skin of its natural oils.

Follow the above-listed simple tips to take good care of your overall skin health, especially in winter.
