If you’ve been visiting the blog for a while, you know how my family and I love visiting Kings Dominion every year.  We always have a great time every time we visit!

If you and your family are planning to go  visit Kings Dominion soon, you’ll be glad to know about their brand new event, Taste of Virginia  Kings Dominion happening on Saturdays and Sundays from May 6 to May 21.

At this exciting, mouth-watering event, you’ll be taken to a delicious journey through the commonwealth as you taste sample-size dishes inspired by regions such as Chesapeake Bay and Tidewater including crab cakes and seared oysters.  For a sneak preview of  the Taste of Virginia event, you can watch videos on Kings Dominion’s Facebook page.

Taste the delicacies of colonial Virginia with Smithfield ham and cheese empanadas or sweet potato and roast duck popovers.

Love desserts?  Taste of Virginia has that covered for you too, with peanut butter fudge, fried Winesap apple pies and much more!

Kings Dominion park has also partnered with several of Virginia’s world-class breweries, wineries and distilleries to help quench your thirst featuring favorites like Hardywood, Copper Fox Distillery, Legend Brewing Company, Center of the Universe and many more.

And while you’re enjoying all the great food, you’ll also be grooving to the sounds of the BEST local live bands, and this Saturday, May 13, Taste of Virginia Kings Dominion will feature appearances by two special guests:

Tim Smith form Moonshiners at the Taste of Virginia Event 2017

  • Tim Smith, from the hit show, Moonshiners, will hold a meet-and-greet with fans from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Chef Damaris Phillips at the Taste of Virginia Event 2017

  • Damaris Phillips, winner of the ninth season of The Next Food Network Star and host of Southern at Heart, will showcase her talents during two cooking demonstrations at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Note that the festival and entertainment are available to all park guests, but if you want to participate in the Taste of Virginia event, you will need to purchase tokens.  This event takes place in the Candy Apple Grove section of the park.

    The chance to be at a food fair is good enough reason to travel. I would like to have a taste of the cheese empanada. It sounds so good. I wish i lived closer to Virginia. This would be such a fun event to go to.

    The Taste of Virginia event sounds amazing at Kings Dominion park . It sounds like so much fun to attend. We love visiting food festivals to taste all the different foods. Thanks for sharing this awesome event.

    Virginia is one beautiful place to visit. We explored one of their cities last year and we had fun! Food is delicious!

    Everything you mentioned sounds and looks absolutely scrumptious! This is totally up my alley and my kind of foodie event. Those popovers – wowza! I’ve never seen anything so creative for a popover before.

    Oh fun, I’d enjoy going. I love to eat so I’d like all this food. Desserts make me very happy! We’ll be in Virginia this summer.

    That looks like such a fun time! I’ve been to Kings Island and Cedar Point which are both run by Cedar Fair, but I’ve never been during a food event. I would love to though!

    I would love to take a big bite out of Virginia by visiting Kings Dominion! The food looks amazing and the trip is perfect for a family vacation. I need to visit soon!
