5 Kitchen Tips to Save Time and Money

If you were to consider the places in your home where you spend a lot of time, your bedroom would be done, but the next is your kitchen.

When you spend a lot of time in your kitchen, and since for many families it is a high traffic area, it is important to consider how you can streamline your kitchen. Streamlining your kitchen and your kitchen routines can save you time and money. Here are five tips to consider to help your time in the kitchen be more about doing things you take pleasure doing, rather than being in your kitchen begrudgingly.

5 Kitchen Tips to Save Time and Money

When it comes to kitchen streamlining, there are plenty of things we can do, but some things take a lot of time and effort and so they get pushed off the “to do list” and into the “oops, I should have” list. Here are some ideas on how you can streamline your kitchen with a few tips, help your overall home life, while still being realistic as to what actually can be accomplished.

Hefty Ultra Strong Trash Bags

Make sure your trash bags are strong and still at a good price. Hefty Ultra Strong is now available at a new, lower price. Your kitchen shouldn’t smell, so keep the trash smell out of your kitchen with the Arm & Hammer odor neutralizing ability, plus the option for various scents (or scent-free), your trash is one thing you won’t have to worry about, at least until trash day. Luckily, with active tear resistant technology for better puncture resistance, you have another thing you won’t have to worry about. Oh, and in the streamlining theme, get these at Walmart: no need to run around town, they’re where you are shopping anyway!

If you have a garden, consider a counter-top composter. You can put all your peelings in and once a day dump the compost into your garden to help create a natural fertilizing option. If you don’t compost, at least your trash bags are keeping the smells at bay until trash day.

Kitchen counter

Commit to wiping down your counters each time you grab a drink. This way, even if you miss a time or two, you can easily keep the countertops clean for when guests arrive unexpectedly.

Use a kitchen wet bag to help keep your kitchen laundry under control. Choose one that hangs inside your cabinets or from a drawer. Place kitchen towels and cloth napkins in and add to your whites to help keep messes at bay.

organizer tote in pantry Keep a tote under your sink or in your pantry for items that need to be donated or that need to be gotten rid of, but can’t be put into the trash. By keeping them all together, you can keep them off your counter space, and get to them all at once when the bin is full. (PS, This works great for other rooms too, keep a tote for items that you want to donate or repurpose and when it is full take care of it all at once.)

What do you do to help keep your kitchen area tidy and streamlined?

And oh, here are great ways to save money on your next Hefty Ultra Strong trash bags purchase! If you use the Ibotta app, you can earn $1.00 cash back via Ibotta after purchasing one box of Hefty trash bags or get a coupon to save $1.00 off one box of Hefty trash bags!

These are all excellent points and ways to keep smells and trash at bay in the kitchen. We recycle and keep the kitchen free of smells by putting trashbags and other stuff in containers in the garage and they get picked up twice a week.

I’ve learned the hard way trying to save money by buying poor quality items. The pennies you save aren’t worth the drama of having your garbage leak.
