CVS Super Deals of the Week: Groceries Worth $76.80 For Only $26.04!

Today was full of blessings. First, I was really happy about the fantastic deals I got at CVS this morning. Then, I had an answered prayer later this afternoon that was a cause of celebration! :)

So anyways, I just want to share my super buys from CVS today. I still can’t believe I actually only paid $26.04 total for all these awesome stuff! It’s like I went shopping at the dollar store, except I got all the expensive brands! :)

So here’s how I approached my CVS purchases today. First, I checked the CVS Sunday ad paper insert yesterday so I can plan my shopping trip accordingly. I found out that they have this great promo this week where you earn an instant $10 CVS gift card when you buy $30 worth of eligible merchandise in one transaction. I found some grocery items I needed that were eligible for this deal and bought those today.

The first thing I do when I enter a CVS store is to scan my CVS Extra Care Bucks card (ECB or reward card) at the CVS scanning machine for coupons. Today, it gave me an instant $2 ECB dollars to use for my first purchase! :)

So, here are the ways I saved money at CVS today:

1st Transaction:

(5) Rembrandt toothpaste, on sale for $3.99 each = Total: $19.95

Used (3) $5 Rembrandt Toothpaste/2 coupon HERE or HERE

Used another (1) $2 Rembrandt Toothpaste/1 HERE or HERE

(1) Quilted Northern 12 pack Bathroom Tissue @ $7.00

Used my FREE $2 ECB that I got from the machine

Total without coupons: $26.95

Total after coupons: $9.95 + $1.25 tax= $11.20 Total paid

*I did a bad Math here thinking I already had a $30 total at check out, so when the cashier rang up the total and I was ready to pay, it wouldn’t generate the FREE $10 CVS gift card. But the store manager was really nice! She did something to the cash register and yup, I got my FREE $10 CVS gift card! So, I would have needed $3.00 more to complete this $30 transaction. Also, I accidentally gave the cashier my other $5 Rembrandt coupon so that took my total out of pocket down to $11.20! I didn’t realize this until I got back to my car and re-checked my receipts. It got me thinking: this mistake might have done something to my “accidental savings” on Transaction #2! Blessing in disguise. :)

2nd Transaction:

(2) All Free detergent, 50 oz, 32 loads on sale for 2/$8 = $8.00

(1) medium box of Kleenex facial tissue = $.99 cents

Total + sales tax= $9.44

Total left on this gift card: $0.68

Used my FREE $10 CVS gift card from Transaction #1

Total= FREE!

*Big surprise!!! My 2nd transaction triggered another FREE $10 CVS gift card at check out. Accidental savings! So not only I got the three items above totally free, I also walked out of the store with an extra FREE $10 CVS gift card for my next purchase! Sweet!

Since I really, really liked the Rembrandt toothpaste deal and I still have coupons to use for them, I went to another CVS near our house and used my $10 gift card, plus paid an extra $14.84 total for other stuff I needed.

3rd Transaction:

(3) Rembrandt Toothpaste @ $3.99 each = $11.97

Used the same $5/2 and $2/1 Rembrandt Toothpaste coupons like I did on my 1st transaction = $7.00 worth of coupons

(2) Finish Jet Dry Rinse Agent @ 2/$7 in-store deal = $7.00

(2) Johnson & Johnson baby bubble bath and wash on sale @ 2/$6 = $6.00

(2) Johnson & Johnson vanilla oatmeal baby wash on sale @ 2/$6 = $6.00

Used a total of $10.68 CVS gift cards from my 1st and 2nd transaction

Total without coupons and gift card: $30.97

Total with coupons and gift card : $14.84 (including tax)

4th Transaction:

(2) All Stain Lifter laundry detergent, 50 oz, 32 loads on sale for 2/$8 = $8.00

(1) Palmolive Soft Touch dish detergent = $.99

Total: $9.44 (including tax)

Used my FREE $10 CVS gift card from 3rd Transaction

Total = FREE!

Total items purchased: 21 items

Total without coupons and gift cards: $76.80

Total paid after coupons and gift cards = $26.04 (add 1st and 3rd transactions)

Total cost per item = only $1.24!

*Note: and will allow you to print one coupon twice, so you should get (4) $5 coupons and another (4) $2 coupons from one computer. Enjoy the savings! Please feel free to comment on this post if you have anything to share about your recent CVS deal shopping! I will appreciate all your feedbacks!

(Thanks, Wild For CVS for the deal scenarios!)
