"Handy Manny Big Race" Playhouse Disney- Special Event on Disney Channel

My preschooler boys love watching Handy Manny's adventures with his talking tools. In fact, they love the earliest DVDs so much our family owns a few of them. What we love about Handy Manny is that the fun stories always teach kids valuable lessons- problem solving, working together, learning about the Latin culture and common Spanish words and phrases.

So I was thrilled to receive fantastic news about Handy Manny and if you or someone in your house is a NASCAR fan- this gets even better. :)

"Handy Manny Big Race" - a brand new prime time special- will air on the Disney Channel on Saturday, March 20th at 7/6c. Guest stars include Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Lance Bass join Wilmer Valderrama (the voice of Manny) and the rest of the "Handy Manny" gang as they prepare for the famed Wood Valley 500 race. Manny and the tools team up with Eliot to revamp his used race car, as race time approaches, Elliot's nerves get the best of him. Famous racecar driver, Chase Davis (Earnhardt, Jr.) and Manny both jump in to help. Want to know what will happen next? Just tune in to the Disney Channel on March 20th to find out!

So here's a great weekend activity idea: why not make March 20th a family date night? Gather up those comfy pillows and blankets and curl up with your kids in your family room and watch “Handy Manny Big Race"! To help you make your family event really fun, the Handy Manny website offers downloadable games, recipes, and special tips!

Here's one recipe that I would like to try for our family night- sounds yummy and easy enough to prep and make! ;)

*MANNY'S MINI WHEEL RACING BURGERS

Ingredients:
1 1/4 pound lean ground turkey
Salt and pepper to taste
4 small dinner rolls or mini bagels, cut in half
2 slices fat-free cheddar cheese, cut into 2-inch
circles
1 small pickle, sliced
Ketchup and mustard for garnish

Directions:
1. Form ground turkey into eight 1/4-inch thick patties. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook patties about 4 minutes per side, or until cooked
through.
3. Arrange buns, cut side up, on a platter. Place a burger on top of each bun. Lay a slice of cheese and
pickle in the center of each burger.
4. Add dots of mustard and/or ketchup around edge of burgers.
Makes 8 small burgers.

*Note: If you're inviting little friends over, make sure to check with their parents if they have food allergies
