Oh, what a wonderful, blessed day! And a beautiful day it is. :)
Yesterday, I was out most of the day running errands and wrapping up my Christmas shopping. When I got back home, I had a beautiful surprise waiting for me in my email inbox. It was from Madison- the nice PR lady from the Corner Bakery Cafe Holiday Catering Challenge contest. 
As many of you know, Hip Mama's Place was lucky to be chosen as one of 12 mom blogs nationwide to participate in this awesome contest. CBC catered food in my house worth $150 and I was able to throw a free holiday/birthday party to our family and friends last Sunday, December 6th (the day after my birthday). Indeed, it was a birthday blessing. The food was really yummy and everyone complemented us for how nice our party was and all the free food! :) Anyway, to make the long story short, Madison sent me very exciting news yesterday: Hip Mama's Place won the Corner Bakery Cafe Holiday Catering Challenge photo contest! I had 184 votes total.
So of course, my reaction: "Oh, wow. Yayyy!!! This is so awesome!!! Thank you CBC!!! And what a wonderful holiday surprise for me and to all my wonderful HMP readers and followers!" :)
And without everyone's support, this wouldn't have been possible. So I thank all of you, dear readers and friends who took the time to vote for Hip Mama's Place. You're all so wonderful and I just want to let you all know how much your loyalty means to me.

I definitely prefer CATERING. I don't like cooking anyway, and for parties, catering is much easier! Less-stress, can cost less, and then I get to enjoy myself! And no pesky dishes to do either!

Catering is so much easier. I have tried potlucks, make it yourself, premade meals from the grocery store. Catering works best for me and a lot less clean up. Plus it gives me more time to spend with my extended family that I don't see enough of!

congratulations! Sadly I don't live near a CBC location so I can't enter to win.
I am one of those people who thought catering was expensive. My mind was quickly changed when I began doing research for a work function. Catering saves money. Instead of having food to waste at the end of the party, the appropriate amounts and portions are figured out for you.
The one thing I love most about catering is the amount of time you save by not having to be in the kitchen. You can spend all your time entertaining guest, and that is worth a lot!

I absolutely love Corner Bakery! So yummy! I enjoyed the video, and was surprised to see how much money you saved by catering, not to mention how much time saved! Definitely got me thinking that I may want to cater a future party instead of cook myself.

I am shocked at how much you save by catering, I love to eat someone else's food. And, of course, I love Corner Bakery, we had breakfast there yesterday. YUM!
I see that you could save money with catering depending on how you plan out your menu but I personally think the best part of preparing for a party is cooking the food. I love the satisfaction when you finish and you see happy faces enjoying food you feel like you have made their life better. I also love the challenge of preparing a great menu on a low per item cost.
I'm a busy working mom so throwing a party with catered food is awesome! I am definitely catering vs. cooking- saves me a lot of time and money because whenever I grocery shop, I tend to go over my list and spend more than I should. :)
