I am a busy mom of two very active young ladies and a wife to a workaholic husband who has a touch of OCD when it comes to keeping a clean house. Add two hairy pets to that mixture and it's a recipe for disaster! That's why when Jocelyn asked if I'd be willing to review the FURminator line of products, I JUMPED at the chance!

The FURminator deShedding Tool is safe and effective for long and short haired dogs and cats, as well as horses! It's patented deShedding Tools work by removing an animals loose hair and undercoat - the fluffy, dead hair that causes all the mess - and enables the release of natural oils that provide a healthy, shiny topcoat. The tool features a distinctive stainless-steel edge that works without cutting or damaging Fluffy's topcoat and come in a range of different sizes all with an ergonic grip handle. There are also other products designed to work along side the FURminator deShedding Tool. They include deShedding shampoo and solution for dogs, waterless deShedding shampoo and conditioner for cats/dogs, shampoo and conditioner for cats, dog treats, and food supplements for dogs.
After using the FURminator products for a few days now I am SOLD! My daughters helped me with this review, since the animals are theirs. We tried the FURminator deShedding tool first and were astonished by the amount of hair that came off our little puppy!! The girls then put Lucky in the bath to try the shampoo and solution. They both had a light and pleasant fragrance and left Lucky's hair very soft. Then, according to the directions we used the FURminator deSheding tool again. Yup, more hair!
A few days later we tried the Waterless Shampoo/Conditioner on our puppy. She didn't care too much for the process, but we liked the convenience, fragrance and results. Again, Lucky's coat was soft and shiny and the deShedding tool took even more hair off!
The FURminator deShedding treats are also a favorite of the dogs, as well as the deShedding tool. And the deShedding tool had the same great results with the cat, although she wasn't as willing as the dog to participate in the experiment.
We have seen an improvement not only in the condition of our pets' coats in the few days we've used the FURminator products, but also in our house with a decrease in loose dog/cat hair on our hardwood floors and furniture.

My dog sheds a lot! I bet this would do the trick!
We've been using the FURminator for about 3 months and love it! Our lab, Shadow, loves it, too. At first I was a little leery of spending so much on a razor, but it is worth it.
I wonder how well it would work on a short coat like my English Pointers.
